Wayne R. Erickson's Obituary
Wayne R. Erickson was born on April 2, 1927 in Quincy, Oregon to Mathew & Lydia Lome Erickson.
He died on February 5, 2008 at his home in St. Helens, Oregon at the age of 80.
He attended and graduated from Clatskanie High School in 1945. He was in the Army from 1946-1948.
He worked at Crown Zellerbach in Columbia City for 22 years before they closed, then onto Aldercreek Lumber Co. until his retirement at age 65.
He married Nemielee Day on March 7, 1964 in Warren, OR. She preceded him in death in 2005. He lived in this area all of his life.
Early on he attended Warren Baptist Church & Sunset Park Church. Member of the Clatskanie VFW Post #2994 and the APIW Local Union #2961.
He enjoyed duck, deer & elk hunting, gardening and donating his veggies to the Senior Center. He also donated wagon equipment to the Oregon Trail & Columbia County Museums.
Survivors include: Daughters: Lori Potrotz of Portland; Diane Erickson of Oregon City; Step-daughter: LeeAnne King of Sisters, OR.; Siblings: Marjorie McConn of Half Bay Moon, CA.; Kenneth Erickson of Clatskanie, OR.; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
Viewing & Visitation: 9-5 Monday
Funeral Service: Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 1:00 PM both at Columbia Funeral Home-St. Helens
Private interment: Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery-Portland.
