William Gahan Benjamin's Obituary
William Gahan Benjamin, 89, of Portland died July 14, 2025 from pneumonia caused by valley fever. Bill was born August 9, 1935 to Ralph W. Benjamin and Edith F. Gahan in Bangor, Maine.
Bill is survived by his wife Saundra, daughter Stacy Benjamin, son-in-law Sean Oldham, and daughters Diane Ogden and Linda Schroeder from his first marriage. Survivors include sisters Joan Davis and Mary Ann Ritacco. His sister Patricia Craft, preceded him in death. He had four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bill was a member of the Oregon Bar Association and managed his own law practice. Later in life he was a substitute teacher. Bill enjoyed mentoring. Advising others and sharing his experiences was very rewarding to him. His favorite hobby was playing bridge. He was proud to be a lifelong learner.
Burial at the Willamette National Cemetery with military honors will be held August 5th.
