William Troy Columbus Hill Sr.'s Obituary
William Troy Columbus Hill Sr, 40, of St. Helens, Oregon, embarked on his final adventure on October 13, 2023. Born in Houston, Texas, on September 13, 1983, to his beloved father the late Troy Hill, and his mother Donna Hill, William left a trail of cherished memories and touched the hearts of all who knew him. William was a master of kindness, a family man, and a friend who always had your back. He was the epitome of generosity, trustworthiness, and good humor, with a dash of adventurous spirit.
William's character was a wild combination of caring, hardworking, funny, and compassionate. Simply put, he was a one-of-a-kind individual. His laughter was infectious, and his mission in life was to see others smile. For William, a stranger was simply a friend he hadn't met yet. He would give you the shirt off his back or perform daring "Redneck Rescues" without hesitation. He truly believed in going the extra mile—maybe even "walking 500 miles and 500 more" if it meant bringing a smile to the faces of his children and everyone around him.
Speaking of his pride and joy, William loved nothing more than his children: Kiara Scribner, Hunter Hill, and William Hill Jr. Their happiness was his treasure. He delighted in playing the role of Santa Claus during Christmas and sharing in the excitement of their wishes coming true. Fireworks were his jam, and he never missed an opportunity to light up the sky with joy.
Survived by his loving wife, Jordan Hill, along with other cherished family members—Donna Hill (mother), Michael Hill (brother), Dawn Hill (sister), Cassianna Trapp (sister), Russell Trapp Jr (brother in-law) Donald Singer (brother in-law) Shannon Lackey (brother in-Law), Nathan Hill (cousin) Serria Singer (niece) Shyann Singer (Niece), Russell Trapp III (nephew) Taylor Trapp (nephew), as well as many more aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends scattered across states like Texas, Arkansas, Wyoming, Washington, Oregon, North Carolina, Virginia, California, and Idaho—William's infectious spirit and love will be felt far and wide.
In his heyday, William's career started at the tender age of 10, mowing lawns with gusto. By 16, he had graduated to the fast-food realm. But he didn't stop there! In 1999, he joined his dad in the HVAC business, ultimately becoming a certified installer. He even took his talents to the next level by founding Hill and Hill HVAC and teaming up with top-notch institutions like Heat Master Corp, Rons Heating and Cooling, and Larry Feyko Refrigeration.
When it came to matters of the soul, William found solace and a sense of belonging at Fourth Plain Nazarene. It was there that he experienced a spiritual awakening and discovered a community like no other.
Adventurous at heart, William passionately pursued hobbies that set his spirit free. Camping, fishing, driving, ATV escapades, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors filled his days with joy. He was a master fire-builder and enjoyed celebrating the good times with BBQs, friends, and family. William's love for fireworks was legendary—no Fourth of July, Halloween, Christmas, or Father's Day could pass without an explosive celebration. And oh, how he savored his beloved Fridays the 13th and the magical aura of Halloweentown! As a proud member of the St. Helens community and the Dirt Dorks offroad adventures crew, he lived life to the fullest. In his downtime, William had a knack for working with wood, endlessly curious about what made things tick (even if reassembly wasn't always his strong suit). Gathering people together, river trips, car shows, Seahawks football, Oktoberfest, 420 celebrations, and the uplifting power of music were his other secret weapons for a life well-lived. Eagles soared high in his heart as his spirit animal, and William's collection of eagles, wizards, and knives was a testament to his unique spirit.
To bid farewell and celebrate the remarkable life of William, a truly remarkable adventurer, a special service will be held at Caples House Museum on 11.11.23, from 11am to 3pm. It will be a pot luck. Please contact Dawn Hill or Cassianna Trapp if you have any questions.
To honor his memory, contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, Spirit of Halloweentown (St. Helens, Oregon), Red Cross, or OHSU.
Lending their support with the arrangements is the incredible team at Columbia Funeral Home and Cremation Center Columbia Memorial Gardens in St. Helens, Oregon.
As we say goodbye to our dear William, let's remember that life is an adventure meant to be lived fully, just as he did. May his memory forever bring laughter, joy, and a touch of wildness to our hearts. Keep blazing trails, and soar as high as possible William!
