William Neil Adams' Obituary
William Neil Adams
William "Bill" Neil Adams was born on May 29, 1952 in Bethal, Alaska to Jennie Corrigal and William Thorpe Adams. Bill died in a trucking accident on December 28, 2008 in Wilsonville, Oregon. He was 56 years old.
Most of Bill's early life was spent in Tacoma, Washington, and then Vancouver where he graduated from High School. Later he lived in North Portland and the last ten years in the home he built in the Chapman area of Scappoose, Oregon.
As a young man, Bill snow and water skied, enjoyed soap box racing, fishing and raising homing pigeons. While later in life he loved being with his family taking them on camping trips, and rocking out to the 60's music while on road trips with his kids. He was an excellent handy-man, and there was nothing he couldn't fix.
Employed by Reinhard Petroleum in Portland, he was a dedicated driver who took pride in his work.
Bill is survived by his wife, Arlyn S. Bird of Scappoose; father, William Thorpe Adams of Arizona; children: William N. Adams of Hillsboro, Oregon, Jr., Kurtis Adams of Vancouver, Washington, Jennie A. Adams, and John F. Adams both of Scappoose; Step-children: Marcia Connolly and Mark Donaldson; Sisters: Mary Dalberg of Stretch Island, Washington and Eileen Bolser of Burley, Washington; close cousin, Crandal Krause; and 4 grandchildren: William Robert "Billy-Bob", Christopher, Daijhia, and Nevaeh.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service which is scheduled for Sunday, January 11, at 6:00 PM at the Community Center in Linnton, Oregon. Burial will be near his mother in Tacoma, Washington.
