William Wallace Mead's Obituary
William Wallace Mead was born in Grelton, Ohio to Clyde & Catherine March Mead on April 15, 1911.
He died in a Portland Hospital on October 26, 2003 at the age of 92.
He was educated in Ohio.
He moved to Warren, OR. in 1941 until present.
He was in the Navy from 1936 to 1940, on June 14, 1941 he married Isabel Meyers in Vancouver, WA.
Worked in the Oregon shipyards 41-45.
He was a Tipple operator for Fir Tex Mill Co. for 30 years, retiring in '76.
He was a member of Sunset Park Community Church, past master of the Warren Grange, past president of the St. Helens AARP chapter. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping playing cards, watching sports and fishing.
Survivors include: Wife: Isabel Mead of Warren, OR.; Sons: Robert Mead of Roseville, CA.; Raymond Mead of Sumner, WA.; Daughter: Pamela Blakley of Kalama, WA.; Sisters: Berniece Smith of Bowling Green, Ohio, Edith Spangler of Napoleon, Ohio, 1 grandchild, numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Viewing & Visitation: Wednesday & Thursday 9-5 at Columbia Funeral Home
Funeral service: Friday, October 31, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Park Community Church-St. Helens, OR.
Private interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens-Scappoose, OR.
