Willie Rae Vandergalien's Obituary
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Rainier Assembly of God Church, 74950 Rockcrest St.
Willie passed away at her home in Rainier surrounded by family. She was 74 years of age.
Willie was born January 19, 1937 in Harrison, Texas to James T. and Pearl May Boles McLearen. She married Gilbert Schoonover August 5, 1958 in Whitney, Texas before moving to Fort Gamble, Washington in the same year. The next year the family moved to St. Helens in November and has remained in the area between St. Helens and Rainier since this time.
She married Samuel Vandergalien on August 21, 1974 in Clatskanie, Oregon.
Willie is survived by her two daughters; Terri Schoonover of Goble and Wille Rae Vandergalien of Rainier, three granddaughters; Amanda M. Hummer of Rainier, Sonja Hummer of Clatskanie Willie raised her as her own daughter from the age of 9 years old and Samantha Miller of St. Helens, two great-granddaughters; Page R. Taylor and Payton R. Taylor both of Clatskanie. She is also survived by her siblings Mary Dishman, Carolynn, and James T. McLearn.
Willie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sam Vandergalien, and a dear friend Tom Burback.
