I do believe Wilma was the wonderful woman who worked at US Bank downtown St.Helens.
I used to see her around town, and we didn't know each other, but would always say hello in passing, because we recognized each other.
The last time I saw her, she was coming out of Bing's. I thought since it had been a long time since I'd seen her, I better tell her how beautiful I always thought she was - ever since I was a little girl following my mother to the bank. I told her she always had, and still did, look like Della Street, the secretary on Perry Mason.
I was very pleased and surprised because she hugged me and said thank you. I get tears in my eyes whenever I think of it, and have thought of it often.
My lesson was to never hesitate to tell someone the wonderful things you've noticed about them. They may never imagine.
If you aren't the right family, the woman in the picture is also beautiful.
Thank you.
Rosemary
