Winn "Stuart" Forman's Obituary
Winn Stuart Forman, aged 61 of St. Helens, Oregon passed away on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023.
Stu was born in February 1962 in Portland, Oregon to parents Judith and Winford. He spent his early years in the Saint John’s area and attended local schools.
As a young man he began his career in Construction working with his father building Portland’s first Light Rail project. To provide for his family, he joined LIUNA Laborers Local 320 where he worked for 25 years, contributing to many major Portland Metro Area development projects.
Stu discovered he had a natural talent for music at young age. After mastering the drums as a teen, he began playing additional instruments including guitars, bass guitars, harmonicas, and keyboards, excelling at each. Stu truly loved performing live with friends and writing and recording original music in his small in-home studio.
Stu enjoyed learning about local history, culture, and customs and was always willing to share his knowledge with others. In retirement he researched and curated Forman family history and genealogy. His research and ability to source original print material was shared with others and used in research and published works.
Stu married his wife Amy in 1992. He became a proud Step-Father to Haily and shortly thereafter joyously welcomed his son Robert. The family moved to St. Helens in 1995 where he continued his passions of music and genealogy.
Stu is survived by his wife of 31 years, Amy; his beloved stepdaughter Haily and husband Brian Wellnitz and Granddaughter Quinn; he is also survived by his cherished Son Robert Forman, wife Alex Collins, and Grandson Miles; as well as his brothers Bill and Robert Buck. Stu was preceded in death by his brother James Buck; and his mother and father.
Stu will be laid to rest in the family plot at Kelly Cemetery in Wapinitia, Oregon on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at noon.
