Winnifred "Winnie" Ann Lokken's Obituary
Winnifred “Winnie” Ann Lokken, 85, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded with the love and support of her family. She was born to Floyd L. Griffith and Rachel R. Griffith (Perkins) on January 31, 1937 in the rustic hills of Shiloh Basin, Oregon.
She spent her early childhood contributing to the family’s farms and an active member in their community church in Shiloh Basin. She graduated from St. Helens High School (the old John Gumm School) in 1955. Shortly after high school she married John Larry Lokken on April 27, 1957. Winnie and Larry had 3 wonderful children together.
As a young adult she had one job that always stood out in conversations, her time spent working at Thriftway. While at Thriftway she gained many friendships that continued throughout her life. Although the majority of her adulthood she spent as the family's homemaker. The title homemaker doesn’t give her many talents justice. She was a goddess in the kitchen, her meals were one that everyone rant and raved about. Her passion for her farm was one of a kind. She loved gardening, flowers, the esoctic birds that her gardening attracted, and had a true passion for restoring her childhood farming equipment. She shared her love and passion for her talents with her adoring 7 grandchildren. She spent most of her time as a grandparent traveling to sporting events, taking the grandkids to the tractor show, treating them to dining out on the regular, and trips to the swimming pool followed by ice cream from Dairy Delish.
Winnie also loved her time being a “snow bird,” traveling to Arizona during the winter months for several years. As her grandchildren aged she continued her traveling with them, traveling to many states, but the latest trips to Hawaii were by far one of her favorites. She loved Hawaii.
Winnie truly adored her grandchildren and great grands, family was everything to her and it goes without saying the entire family felt her love. She will be missed.
Winnie is survived by her daughter, Tami Schlumpberger (Ron), grandchildren; Bobby Lokken, Christopher Schlumpberger, Andrew Schlumpberger (Lindsay), Brandon Lokken (Tia), Shauna Lokken, Matthew Lokken (Bethany), and Shandee Lokken (Brandon), great-grandchildren; Ryan Lokken & Beau Lokken, Jagger & Mia Lokken, Wyatt, Alyssa & Tae Scheuermann, Maverick & Hayden Lokken, Caden & Emery Schlumpberger, sister; Debbie Jones (David), brother; Scott Griffith (Kate), sister-in- law; Judy Griffith, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her late husband, John “Larry” Lokken, both sons Timothy & David Lokken, sisters Dorthea & Crystal Griffith and brother Sonny Griffith.
