I first met Al and Kapua at 'Ohana Christian Fellowship, and throughout the years had many opportunities to talk story with Big Al. We followed him from cafe to cafe, and enjoyed all the time we spent up in St Helens at the cafe there. I was invited to the baby lu'au for his adorable mo'opuna,
One of the last times I was there, I just sat out in the sun with Big Al and talked story. My heart is so saddened by the loss of this special man, and I am going to miss him a lot.
He was an awesome human being, a great guitar player, and a terrific cook. But more than that, he was the epitome of the aloha spirit, and that's what I'm going to miss the most.

Al, it was far to soon for you to go, you are greatly missed by all your supportive family. I remember the first time we met, I noticed your huge smile that lit up the whole world. You had such passion and heart for life, that's golden. I'm not that much of a biblical man but I do hope you're at peace and in a better place. Maybe we will meet again. R.I.P. Al
