What a wonderful event at the Elks club for Andy Daniel May, Our uncle. We were able to attend his memorial with my husband Richard of Lacey WA, and my sister Sue and Rob Ware of Vancouver Island BC. We have stayed in touch with Dan and June over the years in Tacoma and down in the Palm Springs area where our mother and father have lived for over the past 36 years. Jim and Marilyn Fitzpatrick. Marilyn Vivian May is Uncle Dan's step sister. The share the same father. Andy May.
My Sister Sue and Rob would stop to visit Dan and June in St Helens and also down in Yuma, along with our brother Gary Fitzpatrick of Puyallup. They made many trips each year to visit Dan and attended many of his garage parties in the desert. They also were introduced to Mexico across the boarder where Uncle Dan knew just about everyone. Now I can see where all the socialness come from. lol
We never knew our Grampa Andy, But I suspect he was much like Dan.
We enjoyed meeting all our cousins at the memorial that we never knew as well. What a shame. I hope we can all meet more often now and stay in touch. Randy May is the spitting image of his father. I think his son Jim is right behind him.
We have had the opportunity to spend time with his Daughter Doreen and husband Ken. They have reached out over the years and it has been wonderful to have the connection.
We want to thank Dan and Junes daughter Michelle and husband Bob for taking them into their home and being exceptional care givers. God Bless them and their family.
It was a pleasure to meet son Jeff and his wonderful children. Also June's daughter Laura from Sandy. Cousins we never knew we had.
This was my first time to even visit St Helens Oregon. Now we know where you are an how to find you. At the Elks Club!
Until we meet again, we are sorry for all the loss, but we hope we can make up for it by getting together again!
All our Love, Richard and Kathy Schneider of Lacey WA 253-312-9299
