Darlene was a beautiful person both inside and out. She was very comforting to me when my mother passed. She was always happy to see me and we would hug no matter if it was in the store, the hospital or church. I remember visiting her a few times in the hospital and one time we had a "party" near her birthday in 2012. The nurses brought little milk shakes and she opened gifts. My sister came from out of state to visit and we would schedule trips to see Darlene whether it was for lunch or the hospital. Darlene always would ask about her. She genuinely cared about everyone. She loved her family, her flowers and her little dog. May she rest in peace.

I will remember how she always made me feel like she was genuinely happy to see me when we would bump into each other at the store. Always, always included a hug hello and goodbye. The last time I saw her she was in Safeway buying doughnuts in anticipation of a visit from her grandsons. I am so sorry for your loss Rob and Deb and for your kids. She was proud of you and her grandbabies. She will be missed by many.

Darlene was always so kind to whole Riegel family, but especially to my dad and mom, Bud and Marguerite, whom Darlene called "Maggie." Rob and Deb, your mom was tops in my book, always with a smile and a good word.
