Sonja:
Our hearts have sunk, we are in tears for your loss of such a GREAT man. We last saw Dean in April on one of his unexpected "Hellos" and always a welcome face as you both have always been since the Ruby Ranch brought our lives together. The two of you touched our lives and made it better through your friendship and support. Your faces used to light up the Red Rooster which made it all worth while.
We knew his battle was on going and he seemed to be winning, then again, he never wanted to impose. He was a giver and he did just that, gave his friendship and touched deeply those he cared for.
Sonja, we would have been there for you Sunday if we had known, please let us be there for you now.

Sonji & Children. As a friend and a community we will all miss Dean. Our hearts are filled with sadness & shock. Just about every morning Dean would come to the Deer Island Store for biscuits & gravy and 2 Cokes to go. I would ask him 'How are you doing? He always had a smile and would say quietly I'm OK.I wish I would have taken more time to sit and visit and realize the struggle he was going through. God Speed to you & the family and to Dean.
