Debbie J. Stencil's Obituary
Obituary of Debra "Debbie" Jean Stencil
A Celebration of Life will be held, 2:30 PM, Tuesday, June 14th at the Columbia Funeral Home. Debbie passed away June 10th in Portland surrounded by her family and friends after a battling cancer for the last year. She was 57 years old.
Debbie was born July 30, 1953 in Yakima, Washington to Bob and Phyllis Jean Leturner Frick the youngest of 3 children. She lived a brief time in California before moving to Scappoose where she was raised most of her life. Debbie graduated Scappoose High School in 1971.
With a smile, a laugh and a promise for fun the next time they would meet, Debbie would often enthusiastically inform, adopt and welcome children in the community with the phrase; "Honey, "I'm your CRAZY GRANNY". At this, she would wink at the parents and she and the child would share a mischievous grin. Many people only knew her simply as the "Crazy Granny" and looked forward to visiting with her both at her home and while she served the community of Scappoose working as a checker at P&G Thriftway for ten years and then Fred Myers for the last eleven years. Spunky, outspokenness and flair, marked her personality.
Debbie is survived by many family members; this includes her dad; Bob Frick of Scappoose, her sons and daughter in laws; Dennis Misty Willard of Everett, Washington, Aaron Tommi Willard of Scappoose and Doug Stencil of Scappoose, siblings Kathyryn Frick of Washington and Ronald Frick of Oregon, grandchildren; Coltin and Brayden Willard, Abigail Stencil, Nevada and Jesus Mead and anyone else who lovingly felt that she, too was their "Crazy Granny". Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, June 20, 2006.
