Although there were many miles between our homes, my siblings and I all share the same warm feelings about Aunt Delores. Mom often spoke so highly of her and Uncle Larry. The few times I saw her during our limited visits, she left a lasting impression of being one of the most loving and kind people I've ever met. She and Uncle Larry had the unique ability to make us feel like special members of their family. As a young person I never realized that's honestly how they felt. 'Ev's kids' were family-only they lived 2500 miles away. Your mom was truly a warm hearted woman with a gentle spirit. I know that because Mom thought the world of her, so obviously, she had to be special. I wish we could have made our trip to Portland to see her. Sadly, that wasn't part of God's plan.
