Dorinda Ann Daggett's Obituary
Dorinda Ann Daggett passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 in Hillsboro, Oregon. She was 92 years old.
A private graveside service will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Masonic Cemetery in St. Helens followed by a 1:00PM, Saturday, December 1, 2012 Memorial Service at St. Bede Episcopal Church in Forest Grove.
Dorinda Ann Brakke was born on October 20, 1920 in Portland, Oregon the 2nd child of Peter Henry and Beryl Marguerite Muckle Brakke. Raised in St. Helens she graduated in the class of 1937.
A few years later she married her high school sweetheart, the joy and love of her life, Robert Elmer Daggett on January 30, 1943. During their 58-year marriage they lovingly raised five children. They lived in St. Helens from 1948 until 1955 when they moved to Portland.
In 1966 she worked for Clatsop Community College and then moved to Petaluma, California where for the next 17 years she worked for the school district as a school secretary for Petaluma High School, Grant Elementary, and San Antonio Alternative High School retiring in 1983.
She and Robert moved back to St. Helens that same year and in 1985 they moved for the last time to Hillsboro to be close to the grandchildren.
Robert predeceased Dorinda in 2001.
Dorinda, remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was a lifetime member of the Episcopal Church. She is survived by her five children: Bob Daggett of Portland; Dorinda Holloway of Portland; Nancy Osborne of Sweet Home; Pete Daggett of Cannon Beach; Amy Petti of Portland; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Dorinda was predeceased by her brother Richard Thorburn Brakke.
