How do I began to express the loss that I feel. Dorothy and I were friends for a long, long time. We met her husband Jim, and from that time on we were good friends with both of them. They were hard working, honest people. We spent a lot of time with them over the years. We just enjoyed doing family things together. There are not many times that people are blessed with a friendship like we have shared with the Carpenter family. I have to say that Dorothy was the best friend and "shopping" buddy anyone could have. We never tired of all our silly chit-chat. Our road trips were always fun. I have to admit that our trip to Hawaii was the greatest and most fun of them all. Ed and I will miss Dorthy so much. The time that I was able to spend with her in the last months of her life are forever etched in my heart. God Bless everyone that took care of Dorthy with heartfelt love and caring. Grandma Dorothy was beautiful, inside and out. Her kindness and treatment of others is a model for everyone. So many knew her from her years at Sherlock's, so many times people would tell me they knew her, and thought she was wonderful. She was Grandma to me, Amy, David, Kelli, Kimmy and Grant, but there were so many others she was grandma to as well. Dorothy and I settled many of the world's woes, especially those concerning politics and women's issues in the years she worked at Sherlocks.
