My name is Ozzie Morrow and I was at my mom's house last Sunday and she called me to say her other son Duane brought a article over about Doug. She read it to me over the phone and there wasn't a dry eye on either phone. I met Skipper when I was playing softball at that tournament was mentioned in the paper, South County Spotlight, written by John Brewington. After every tournament I would go over to the group home and visit. Spend time with him. I will miss my little buddy.
I worked with Doug when I was 17, he was such a beautiful, genuine person. He taught me many things with his unique perception of life and I have often thought of him over the years. Every time I got a chance to see him, he always greeted me with a smile and a hug and I never left an interaction with Doug that I wasn't smiling. I will forever be grateful I had the opportunity to spend time with him in this life. jodi

I remember Doug being at all the games in Scappoose. I remember good times for him as he was jumping up and down and clapping when a touch down was made, or a basket was made. I also remember witnessing some bad times for Doug with bullying.
I remember Doug walking all over town. He was a very sweet person. I am filled with joy that Doug will enjoy eternity with a perfect mind and body...

Late in the summer of 1958 my family had just moved to Scappoose and I was about to enter Mrs. Snow's second grade class. Too young to be any help with the unpacking, Mom and Dad sent us outside to play and it wasn't five minutes later that I met Doug - he lived four or five doors down the street from the house we were renting.
From that day ntil I graduated high school 11 years later I think it is a safe bet that Doug was at every basketball game or baseball game I ever played in... high school, summer ball, it didn't matter - if there was a game there was Doug. And win or lose, when the game was over he always would offer a sincere "good game" and let you know he would be back to watch the next time we played.
One would have to look hard to find a gentler soul than Doug - all of us who knew and loved him are better people for having known him.

Doug was a friend for over fifty years. We shared many times with laughter and tears. He never knew a stranger in his life. He brought me enormous pleasure with the unique ways he would send his hellos and that he was thinking about me, whether it would be through friends, people that knew me, or even people that didn't know me. He would always find a way. Doug loved to sing the old songs of the fifties and sixties and would break out in song if you even mentioned a title of one. His ability to remember all sports and all of the people that played them amazed everyone. Over the years Doug was at all the games and everyone knew him. For the most part, I want to say, I was his favorite (at least I will always think that). There will be a special place in my heart that no one will ever fill. I love you Doug and will miss You.
