Douglas Gordon Stewart, of St. Helens, Oregon, passed away at the age of 76, on June 26, 2016.
Douglas Stewart was born on September 25, 1939 in St. Helens, to Clyde and Edith Stewart. He graduated St. Helens High School, then attended Pacific University with an academic and sports scholarship. Doug was very active in basketball, track and football. He then received his Master’s degree at University of Oregon.
On March 17, 1973 Doug married Frances Seuell in Reno, Nevada. Together, they shared many memories over their 43 years together.
Doug taught biology at St. Helens High School and also coached basketball, track and football, he then became a school administrator and retired after 29 years. He was an active member in the Elks and Moose, and enjoyed golfing, fishing, skiing, boating and watching Western Movies. He loved dancing with his family, and will always be remembered for his loyalty and generosity.
Doug is survived by his wife Frances Stewart, his children, Bradley Stewart, Katrina Shiroma and his brother Homer Stewart.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Doug on July 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM at
Grace Baptist Church, 58690 Ross Rd, Warren, OR 97053, with reception to follow.
