Elizabeth Betty Helen Driscoll

Elizabeth Betty Helen Schlosser was born on April 23, 1931 and was raised in Burt, North Dakota. She moved to the West Coast in the 1950's living in Portland, Oregon and Long Beach, California. She married James Holmes in 1958 and had one daughter, Michelle. After they divorced two years later, she moved to Santa Rosa, California. In the late 1960's she moved to the Scappoose – St. Helens area where she worked as a waitress and bartender.
She married Gordon Driscoll on September 13, 1980 at St. Frederic's Catholic Church and settled in Warren, Oregon. Together with her husband Betty was involved in catering and volunteer work at both St. Frederic's and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Churches, and the St. Helens Senior Center. Her hobbies included fishing, canning and cooking, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also a member of the Germans from Russia Society.
After fighting cancer for almost two years, Betty passed away peacefully on August 16, 2008.
Betty is survived by her husband Gordon Driscoll of Warren, her daughter Michelle Titius and her granddaughter Elizabeth Titius, both of Corona, California, and her brother Raymond Messer of Derby, Kansas. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Legacy Hopewell House in Portland, Oregon or to the American Cancer Society.
There will be Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 am and Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Thursday August 21, 2008 at St. Frederic Catholic Church in St. Helens, Oregon. Committal will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
