Ethelmae - Jordan's Obituary
Ethelmae Jordan was born on September 28, 1938 in Merced, CA. to Lewis & Lorene Smith Jordan.
She died at a Portland hospital on November 25, 2009 at the age of 71.
Ethelmae lived in Los Angeles during WWII where she started school, moved to Fresno and Firebuagh, CA. In 1947 the family relocated to Oregon to the Trenholme area of Columbia County where she attended a one-room school house, then went on to graduated from St. Helens High School in 1956.
She worked for Columbia County in the Health Department and Clerk's office from 1957 until her retirement in 1998. She was always active in community service activities, charter member of Business and Professional Women, charter member of Altrusa, Past Noble Grand and life member of St. Helens Rebekah's, Past Grand Royal Princess of Pythian Sunshine Girls, Past State President of F.L. Clubs of Oregon, in her later years she made entries to the Columbia County Fair. She was affiliated with Deer Island Community Church assisting with the contruction of that church. She enjoyed being outdoors, her flower garden, bowling and playing bingo, crocheting afghans for her family, friends, raffles and entries to the fair. She was also involved with organizing her High School class reunions.
Survivors include: Mother: Lorene Jordan; Brother: Roy Jordan; Nieces: Kathy Hoffman & Kristie Jordan; Nephew: Duane Jordan and 13 grand nieces & nephews; preceded in death by her father Lewis in '74 and brother: David in 2008.
Graveside service & vault interment: Bayview Cemetery-Warren, OR. on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 2:00PM
Reception to follow at the Moose Lodge.
