When I must go, Dear God,
Please let it be a gold autumn day,
When red leaves fall
And purple grapes in shining clusters hang.
Let me make my silent journey
When homing birds fly south across the sky.
So let me go.
And may there be no grief when life is done and I must say goodbye.
I'll take my leave with flowers and falling leaf,
And lie in peaceful sleep beneath the sky.
Her love and faith will live on in the lives of her children and grandchildren, and her name will be remembered in one called "Trudy". May the peace of the Risen Christ be with you all.
