Glen has always been “Butch” to me. Our families were close growing up and shared many fishing and camping adventures; I claimed Butch as a big brother. He and my brother Chris joined the Coast Guard together. I remember being so worried about the two of them and even more so when Butch was on Attu Island and would describe the storms he witnessed. I love motorcycles and it’s partly his fault. I would pester him every chance I got to take me for a ride but I only remember getting to go one time. He and I rode up to Omak to see my brother Chris. He told me I had to sit still and couldn’t move around at all. I held so still on the back of that motorcycle for hours because I didn’t want to get in trouble for wiggling. When we got home, he told me I’d been a great passenger. High praise! I remember how his eyes sparkled like Lorraine’s when he smiled and the way both he and Judy scrunched up their cheeks to push up their glasses.
The world is a better place because Butch was in it. Have a safe journey to the other side, Butch.
