Glen George Aucourt's Obituary
Glen Aucourt of St. Helens passed away April 2019 at the age of 65. Beloved husband, father, brother and friend. Glen was born in Seattle, Washington to George and Lorraine Aucourt where he resided with his younger brother Vincent and sister Judi until the family relocated to Saint Johns in 1964. He attended Assumption Catholic School and graduated from Roosevelt High School.
After graduating, Glen joined the United States Coast Guard where he served for 21 years. Completing Engineman School at USCG Tracen Yorktown, he served aboard the USCGC Point Ledge, Polar Star, Boutwell, Mellon as well as Loran Station Attu and other shore side units. After promotion to Senior Chief Petty Officer, he and his family relocated to USCG Shipyards in Baltimore, MD for his final tour of duty before retiring and moving back to Saint Johns in 1992 then relocating to Columbia County in 1997.
Glen has been a member of St Catherines Catholic Church of Seattle, the Assumption Catholic Church of Portland and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church of Scappoose.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Lorraine Aucourt, his brother Vincent, Uncle Father George “Sonny” Ferguson and niece Melinda Adams. He is survived by his wife Laura, son Vincent (Cristina), his sister Judith (Maurice) and nephews Jason (Hilary), Nathan, Lucas, nieces Miya, Jocelynne, Lilly, Emily and Victoria.
A mass will be held at St. Fredricks Catholic Church on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00am, reception to follow. Donations in his name can be made to Columbia County Food bank, Meals on Wheels or the American Kidney Foundation.
