Hans Roderick Knuth, age 78, passed away on May 15, 2026. He was born on August 29, 1947, and spent many years living in Scappoose.
Hans proudly served in the United States Army before dedicating more than 20 years to Portland Auto Wrecking. A true car guy at heart, he loved automobiles, going to auction, and sharing stories and laughter with those around him.
Hans was known for his strength, kindness, and unforgettable spirit. He was truly one of a kind — a gentle bear to those who knew him best. He was a devoted partner, proud father, a grandfather figure to neices and his nephew and loving man who cared deeply for his family and friends.
He is survived by his life partner, Diane Smith, and his daughter, Candace Ketchem, and his 3 sisters. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
A private gathering will be held by family and close friends to celebrate his life and honor his memory.
