We go back a LONG time!! I am sorrowed at Jack's passing, as I know you all loved him so very much. Must admit I got a good chuckle out of 'charistmatic when he wanted to be'. To be sure!!
It seemed for a while as if we WERE all one family, with Jeanne keeping Dan and Toni, me picking up Doug and Duke for work with David, and Shannon and Toni sharing the same teacher/class room thru 5th grade!! I was so proud of Jack's determination to get strong again after his heart surgery, what? 30 years ago?
Tough and proud of it, tender and not afraid to show it. That's how I remember Jack.
Love to you all.##imported-begin##Carol Waterman##imported-end##

Dear Jeannie and kids, I am so saddened to learn of Jack's passing. Within the last two weeks I was thinking about him and you and wondered how you were. I don't send cards anymore and have not kept in touch.
My favorite memory of Sailor cousin Jack was in his parents living room in Newberg with him singing and dancing "Hucklebuck and if you don't know how to do it, well, you are out of luck! wiggle like a snake, etc" The whole song is on Google. He really clowned around for his adoring niece I must have been 13 or so, I am not sure but he was about 8 years older than me.
I loved him.##imported-begin##Toni Martinazzi##imported-end##

I am so sorry I didn't talk to cousin Jack for such a long time. Loyce vicci and I were at the coast to visit our sister Jo and we were talking about old times, and about Jack and Doug and other family members. I have tears running down my face as I write this, the years are passing us by so fast I wished we would have picked up the phone that day and called him but we didn't and now it's to late.
Being the fourth of five girls I missed out on a lot of memories my older sister have of Auntie Bill and Uncle Mack, Jack and Doug, but two things stand out in my mind. One it was an anniversay celebration for gramma and grampa Chapman. All the cousins were there, we took grampa's car to the store Jack was driving, for some reason he had the hood up on the truck tinkering around on the inside and I got my arm in the way and he slamed the hood down on my wrist and if you look real close you can still see the scar.
The other thing I remember like it was yesterday Doug's funeral, the cousins were of course devistated by his death, we were all sitting in a row and I was really young the Organ was playing this real soft slow music and one of the cousins said"I think he would have liked Yankee Doodle better" and oh my gosh, we all got the giggles it was auful we couldn't stop with the giggles.
For all of his family he leaves behind, I just want to say I was so sorry to hear of his passing without having talked to him for so long. So my second and third cousins remember, keep in touch with loved ones close or far away so you woun'tr be feeling the sadness I'm feeling right now..
You will all be in my prayers tonight. Chelle##imported-begin##Rochelle Martinazzi##imported-end##
