Terri Michelsen
When I worked in the Marketing Communications dept. at Freightliner, Lewis was our favorite part-time truck driver to call when we needed to take a new truck somewhere for a photo shoot. He was always so calm and confident. He knew how to fix everything, and this was a good thing because you never knew what little things might go wrong with a new truck that had NOT had final inspection. Lewis could thread a needle with a truck and trailer. When we picked an impossible location for a pretty picture, he would wonder if we had any idea of how big the truck and trailer were and what it took to turn one around off road! Dear Lewie! And though it was my job to make sure the truck was clean, Lewie always stepped right in to help. Our worst job was in 1993 in Tillamook, with snow on the ground and us out there at 7am at the truck wash, trying to get the truck perfectly clean for a video shoot. This was AFTER we had worked til 3am that day. No griping from Lewie! But boy were we tired after that day! I never worried when I went on a photo shoot with Lewie. It was always a great day! He was a big part of hundreds of glamorous truck photos used in our glossy sales brochures and also in many of our product videos. I know he was so proud of his award for over one million miles of accident-free driving. I so enjoyed working with you, Lewie. Keep on truckin'! Best wishes to all of Lewie's family, Terri Michelsen, PO Box 333, Wheeler, OR 97147
