I also knew Loraine from the Sjogren's support group though I was the relatively new kid on the block. What gracious Southern charm she had. As Sandra said she never drew attention to herself but listened to and supported the rest of us. She will be missed. To Lorain's family. I know that you will miss her very much. She was a kind and gentle lady. She never said that she had a Doctorate or told about her many travels and accomplishments. I had the "gift" of meeting Loraine through the Sjogrens Support group that met in the Portland area. Loraine had KINDLY made arrangements for the recent meetings to be held in the beautiful guest room of Holladay Park Plaza, where she resided. Loraine had such a striking grace about her, providing knowledge, wisdom, humor, & hope to our members. Quite amazing, even when she was going through her own health issues. She leaves a lasting imprint on our souls. In your honor Loraine, we will "Pay it Forward."

Loraine volunteered at the animal shelter in Johnson City for a long time and I enjoyed being around her so much. She was a great lady and we all loved hearing about all her travels.All the gifts she brought back from her many trips are all over my house and remind me of her, thank you Loraine. We lived next door to Lorraine in the Woodstone Condominiums during the 1990's. We always enjoyed Lorraine's uplifting spirit and broad-ranging interests. She was a delight to know. We moved to another location in JC in 2000, but she visited with us at our 2nd home on Watauga Lake and attended our daughter Alison's wedding in 2001. We had sporadic contact after she moved to Portland. We know that she loved and enjoyed her son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons Andrew and Kienan.
