Mardell Joy Rhoadarmer's Obituary
Mardell Joy Rhoadarmer passed away on December 15, 2024 in Portland, Oregon. She was 74.
Mardell was born November 13, 1950 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada to Henry and Ann Brandt. She graduated from Wetaskiwin High School and Vancouver Bible College where she met her husband Mark. They were married for 21 years.
Mardell served God diligently her entire life. She was the wife of a pastor, Sunday school teacher, Bible study leader, and held many other roles in numerous churches throughout the years. Mardell was a member of Warren Baptist Church for the past 22+ years. She also loved spending time with family, watching her grandchildren’s plays and soccer games, visiting her best friend Alice (of almost 40 years), and attending family reunions in Canada and Minnesota. She never missed sending a birthday card or email to loved ones.
Mardell lived and worked in St. Helens, Oregon. She worked at Riverside Training Center and then at Columbia Community Mental Health for over 16 years as a service coordinator and eligibility specialist. Mardell was still working part time at CCMH when she had her first stroke at the age of 73.
Mardell was preceded in death by her husband Mark in 1994. She is survived by her children, Colleen (Brian) Croney, Nathan Rhoadarmer, David Rhoadarmer; grandchildren Laine and Zach Croney; sister Myrna (Chuck) Nystrom; sister Yvonne (Ken) Demoskoff; brother Curtis (Marg) Brandt; and many nephews and nieces and their children.
Mardell’s quiet strength, devotion, and love for her family and friends was immeasurable. She will be forever remembered for her kindness.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 5p.m. on January 9, at the Warren Baptist Church, 56799 Columbia River Hwy, Warren, OR 97053.
