I often go to daily Mass, and to see Mary return after healing from broken hips and then pneumonia these last few years was truly an inspiration. She embraced the worship of God and the receiving of Jesus in Holy Communion as frequently as possible. I can still "hear" her rosary beads clutched in one hand which grabbed the walker handle as she approached the altar. Her faith was her foundation and her service to people over the years was exemplary. Our parish family will surely miss her and her cherished pioneer roots to the founding families of South Scappoose and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, now going on almost 105 years. Nancy Rocha
