Michael Vernon Watkins' Obituary
Michael Vernon Watkins "Coach Mike" was born March 5, 1964 in St. Helens, Oregon to Greg and Jackie Watkins of Scappoose, Oregon and passed away on June 28, 2008. Michael grew up and graduated from Scappoose High School in 1983. He continued his studies at George Fox College in Newberg. He had many interests and talents professionally including sales and advertising. Amoung the things he loved were, most of all his family and friends and his pets. Mike was also a very loving father to his children. His love of sports and children showed in his coaching through Hillsboro Parks and Rec along with the Glencoe Youth Football and Lacrosse programs.
He is survived by his parents, Greg and Jackie Watkins; his children, Jacob Watkins of Forest Grove, Oregon, Marie Watkins of Gresham, and Hanna Watkins of Spokane, WA, and Tyler, Cody & Kyle Mincemayer of Cornelius; and sister, Charity Lynn of St. Helens; and brother, Jerry and his wife Kathy of Centralia; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was very involved with his church, 1st he loved to help others to the extent the he would sacrifice his own needs. Interests included sports, gardening, camping.
