Gary Joseph Rutledge
1966 – 2023
Gary was born on July 16, 1966, in Moline, Illinois, to parents Earl and Joyce Rutledge. Gary died on October 12, 2023.
Gary graduated from Orion High School in Illinois in 1984. In 1985 Gary joined the Army and served for 4 years. After the army Gary returned home and lived in Orion and Lynn Center. Gary moved to Oregon in 2003 and worked at Willamette Falls where he met his wife Michelle Windsor in 2005. At the time of his death Gary was working at Bonneville Dam. Gary and Michelle started a family in 2006 with the birth of their son Ryan, followed by sister Kate in 2008. Gary was very proud of climbing Mt. Rainier twice.
Gary was predeceased by his parents Earl and Joyce Rutledge. He is survived by sisters Cheryl Ward (Steve Wilson), Lori (Ken) Cook, and Wendi (Rick) Marver. Brothers David (Kerie) and Allen (Michelle) Rutledge.
Michelle Windsor-Rutledge
1970 – 2023
Michelle was born on February 20, 1970, in Hillsboro, Oregon, to parents Richard and Linda Windsor. She died on October 12, 2023.
Michelle grew up in Aloha, Oregon and graduated from Aloha High School in 1988 and U of O in 1992.
She married Gary Rutledge on September 15, 2005, in Oregon City where they started their family.
In 2012 Michelle and her family moved to Troutdale where Ryan and Kate attended school. Michelle worked for Northwest College of Construction in Portland as a controller. She enjoyed photography, making greeting cards and quilting.
Michelle was predeceased by her grandparents Clyde and Beryl Jean Lepin and her brother Bill Windsor. She is survived by her parents Richard and Linda Windsor of St. Helens, OR, aunt Judy Lepin of Rainier, uncles Jim Lepin of Rathdrum, ID and Ron Windsor of North Plains, OR.
Ryan M. Rutledge
2006 – 2023
Ryan was born on August 19, 2006, in Portland, Oregon to parents Gary and Michelle Rutledge. Ryan died on October 12, 2023.
Ryan grew up in Troutdale where he attended school. He was a junior at Reynolds High School. He was an honor student, taking AP classes, he enjoyed reading and playing video games.
Katherine “Kate” M. Rutledge
2008 – 2023
Kate was born on June 24, 2008, in Portland, Oregon to parents Gary and Michelle Rutledge of Troutdale, Oregon. Kate died October 12, 2023.
Kate was a sophomore at Reynolds High School, where she took AP classes and participated in theater. She enjoyed crafts, baking, and hanging out with friends.
The children are preceded and survived by their grandparents, aunts, and uncles listed above.
There will be a celebration of life for the Rutledge family November 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Reynolds High School, in Troutdale, Oregon.
