Steven Clay Kearns' Obituary
Steven Clay Kearns was born November 21, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida, to Leslie and Lois (Shelinbarger) Kearns. His dad was in the Navy, so the family moved frequently; but Steven eventually made it to Oregon in the summer of 1983.
Steven married Judith (Eileen) Moon on June 23, 1984 in Portland. They have lived in Columbia County since 1988. He was employed by CCMH and ISN working locally as a caregiver. Steven was an accomplished wood worker. He and Eileen sold his wood creations, “Kearns Crafts”, during 13 Nights on the River in St. Helens. Steven also loved making people smile by “clowning”. He entertained young and old alike at birthday parties and other events with his animal balloons, and magic tricks.
Steven is survived by his wife, Eileen, of St. Helens; 6 children: Joshua of Kenya, Jonathan of Texas, Benjamin, Stephanie, Lois and Faith of St. Helens; mother, Lois, of Yakima, Washington, brother Victor of Lawton, OK, and sister, Danette of Yakima; and 4 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church in St. Helens.
