You are my hero, you helped to shape who I have become. I don't know what I would have done if you and Grandma had not been just a skip up the driveway. You helped to grow my love for the outdoors and for God, and whenever I walk into a woodshop and I will breathe in deeply and think of you and send up my thanks. I love you!

Maxine, David, Sandy & children and family, my heart goes out to you at the loss of Dud. We who grieve are the ones left behind, but Dud is experiencing joy unspeakable. May you draw strength from the hope of God's eternal glory. I remember many walks up the driveway to their A-frame house when Maria, Megan & Maureen were little. It was surrounded by gorgeous gardens, the koi pond and waterfall, fruit trees and fields of hay. Dud & Maxine were always so welcoming and shared their bounty with others. Because they "adopted" the Darbys as family, I felt like I belonged too. Dud's was a life well-lived - that's what I will remember. We are grateful for his love for us for almost 35 years.
